There is an interesting transcript doing the rounds at the moment of a rather public conversation between two individuals.
Without going into the details (you can read it here) there are three reasons why its appearing on The Social media Project
1. Never expect a professional to provide work for you “free” As pointed out in this email, yes, its only a “few hours” but it’s also years and years of experience.
2. Manners and etiquette.There is a way to approach certain situations, the world is a whole lot smaller these days thanks to social networking sites such as Twitter (and possibly even the one the author is trying to create) you really have nowhere to hide.
3. In today’s market a subscription based model for a Social Netwoking site is just plain silly.
As my mother used to say…. “its nice to be important, but its more important to be nice” I think there’s something in that for all of us, don’t you?
